This Is the Effect of Eating Fish Every Day

Eating fish is believed to provide great benefits for health, but what if fish are consumed every day?

Fish is one of the healthiest foods. However, doctors recommend taking it 2-3 times per week to get health benefits without risking mercury poisoning.

Eating some fish is considered to give a good start and gives a lot of important nutrients, plus protein and healthy fats. However, if taken daily or too often, it affects health, such as experiencing mercury poisoning which causes neurodegenerative disorders.

Mercury is a substance that is formed naturally and has no small problems. However, too much can cause disturbing symptoms that affect children (born and unborn) most significantly.
Acute mercury poisoning can cause permanent neurological deficits, including developmental delays in children. The problem is, there is no cure for this, but it can be stopped by removing the source of mercury.

In general, larger fish have higher levels of mercury because they eat smaller sized fish, where each of them has lower mercury levels. They also live longer, during which time mercury continues to accumulate. This is the same way that humans can get too much mercury if they eat a lot of fish.

The types of fish that have high mercury, such as swordfish, king mackerel, sharks, tilefish, orange roughy, marlin, and bigeye tuna. Meanwhile, fish with low mercury, such as salmon, shrimp, catfish, tilapia, clams, and oysters.

But Eric Eric, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health, says eating fish is okay every day, but not for pregnant women and children.

Eric claimed many benefits of fish consumption. These include increased metabolism, sleep quality, skin quality, and lower concentration and inflammation. Here are some of the benefits of eating fish as reported by foodprevent.

1. Get good fat

When talking about red meat it is always best to choose the leanest pieces. But with fish, you get the most healthy type of fat. That's because fish fat is in the form of omega-3 fatty acids, or "good" fats.

Omega-3s contribute to optimal brain function as a start, but also play an important role in heart health.

Regular consumption of omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce the risk of heart disease or stroke, and slow the growth of plaque in the arteries. It also lowers triglycerides and reduces blood pressure.

2. Vitamin D

Fish is a natural source of vitamin D. But many people lack D because they spend so much time indoors. Because vitamin D plays an important role for the body to absorb many other nutrients.

3. Fight depression

Scientists are still trying to determine the reason that fish fight depression, but it is clear that people who eat the most fish have lower levels of depression. It may be that a healthy diet as a whole is associated with a better mood, but we also know that omega-3 fatty acids can affect the level of feeling good chemicals, dopamine and serotonin in the brain.

Finally, because fish can naturally reduce depression, eating fish can increase blood flow. It can also help improve brain function and facilitate mood swings.
