Does Circumcision Affect the Quality of Sex? This is the study
Circumcision is the surgical removal of the skin that covers the tip of the penis. This procedure is quite common for men in Indonesia.
In addition to health reasons, a study shows that men who have been circumcised are more likely to last longer when it comes to matters of bed.
Quoted from WebMD, women whose male sexual partners were circumcised reported an improvement in their sex life. Researchers studied 455 male couples in Uganda who had recently been circumcised.
Nearly 40% said sex was more satisfying afterward. About 57% reported no change in sexual satisfaction, and only 3% said sex was less satisfying after their partner was circumcised.
Some women also say their partners have no trouble maintaining or getting an erection.
Among the 3% of women who reported reduced sexual satisfaction, the top reason was a lower level of desire from one partner.
Godfrey Kigozi, MD, of the Rakai Health Sciences Program in Kalisizo, Uganda says women whose partners have been circumcised have a better sex life because of the following factors.
1. Better hygiene
2. Longer time for their partner to reach orgasm
3. His partner wants sex more often.
Kigozi added that he conducted research on women who said they were sexually satisfied before
their partners are circumcised. Then, the women were asked to compare their sexual satisfaction before and after their partner was circumcised.
As a result, women do not expect their sex life to change if their partner is circumcised. However, women are aware of health problems such as HIV that can be prevented through circumcision. Thus, the use of circumcision to fight HIV can be accepted by women.
But the effect of circumcision for a better sexual life seems to only apply to women. Because, in a previous survey, 97% of men said their level of sexual satisfaction did not change or improve after they were circumcised.
