According to Heller, the immune system requires all nutrients to function optimally, including vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and phytonutrients. The following are the health benefits of consuming colored foods as reported by Times Now News.
1. Red
Red fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, red peppers, strawberries, pink grapes are loaded with phytochemicals (lycopene and anthocyanins) which can help protect against certain diseases including cancer and diabetes. They can also support eye health and keep skin healthy.
