Take notes! This is a type of exercise that is healthy for the heart

Some time ago, Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and Indonesian badminton player Markis Kido reportedly collapsed from a heart attack. This incident raises concern in the community that diligently exercising is also prone to heart attacks.

Then, what kind of exercise is healthy for the heart?

The collapse of these athletes should not be used as an excuse to be afraid to exercise. In fact, people who exercise regularly have a lower risk of having a heart attack.

The thing that needs to be ensured is the condition of the body when exercising. Does the body have an inherited disease or risk that can trigger a heart attack.

In addition, it is important to know the type of exercise that is healthy for the heart. Cardiologist from Siloam Lippo Karawaci Hospital, Dr. Vito A Damay, SpJP(K) explained, exercise that is good for heart health is exercise with moderate intensity.

Dr. Vito recommends that you do this moderate-intensity exercise for 30 minutes every day to get optimal heart health benefits. According to him, exercise is good for heart health can be calculated 60-70 percent of the pulse.

"The calculation method is to subtract 220 from your current age, then multiply by 60 or 70 percent. That's the heart rate that can be achieved during exercise," said Dr Vito in an e-life show.

If this calculation is difficult, there is another way that is more practical and you can apply. When exercising at a moderate intensity, try to speak one sentence. If you are not overwhelmed, it means that the exercise you are doing is right.

"For example, while walking, you can still sing, that means (exercise) is too light. If you can't even speak one sentence while you are out of breath, it means it's too heavy," he explained.
