"In 2017, I was happy to be away from alcohol. That year I did 4 tours, was active in 2 bands, and was happy during the trip. Quitting drinking alcohol was the most personal decision. I could not explain it to others, because it depends from self-confidence and psychological conditions, "Mayer said.
It's not easy to implement a far-reaching commitment to alcohol. Mayer had felt his life was empty and wanted to get back together and drink alcohol with his friends. But Mayer felt no loss if he continued to no longer drink alcohol, which he called a long-term fixed investment.
Mayer himself did not have a specific motive when starting a commitment not to drink alcohol. Mayer only woke up on the 6th day after being drunk at a party with his friends. "You have to fight hard to be aware of the loss if you consume alcohol again. The temptation to drink alcohol is very big at the end of the week on social media. But I know there is no advantage if giving up halfway," Mayer said.
